DESCRIPTION:Join us for the official opening ceremony of Alebrijes & Nahuales: Fantastic Animals from Mexico at One Main Street. The celebration will feature live cultural performances\, remarks from project leaders\, recognition of key partners\, and a formal presentation alongside local elected officials. Curated by Carlo Magno Pedro\, the exhibition showcases eight monumental sculptures created by master artisans from Oaxaca\, Mexico. This unique cultural experience represents a major collaborative initiative dedicated to bringing world-class art inspired by Mexican heritage to the local community. During the opening program\, the City of Salinas and the Salinas Public Arts Commission will share more about the vision behind bringing this international exhibition to Salinas\, CA. Attendees will hear from Project Director Romain Greco and JC Gonzalez\, Curator of the Miniature Exhibit at 1 Main Street\, who will both share remarks on the inspiration and cultural significance behind this extraordinary collection. In addition to the outdoor One Main Street sculpture\, sponsored by the Arts Council for Monterey County\, guests will also have the opportunity to experience the captivating indoor miniature exhibition.
