Summary /Objective

Responsible for the implementation of the cooler shipping operations plan by ensuring the direction and control of the workforce is aligned with the business plan.

Essential Function

1. Employee management to include, staffing, scheduling, training, and customer relations.

2. Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the cooler including, but not limited to management of receiving, order selection and shipping.

3. Responsible for the assignment, productivity, truck entry, loading authority and loading integrity of each order.

4. Assures all orders match between the carrier, the loading door, and the customer cargo manifest.

5. Ensures all forklifts, roll-up doors, dock levelers, dock bumpers, and order scanners are in safe working order.

6. Ensures staff is taking the proper food safety measures.

7. Ensures staff is carrying out the company Employee Safety program by facilitating tailgate meetings, accident/incident investigations and documenting near miss incidents.

8. Monitors the use of all warehouse equipment and collaborates with Safety when training is needed.

9. Direct management responsibility for the implementation of approved company programs to support the timely and accurate shipment of customer products.

10. Ensure staff is trained on established systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes, data, and enhance the company’s value.

11. Collaborates with Cooler Manager to write and administer corrective actions plans to company policies.

12. Complete work as assigned accurately and timely.

13. Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner.

14. Licensed Forklift operator with active license, or OSHA certified for forklift safety.

15. Network with clients to build on existing relationships.

16. Confirm with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.

17. Participate in projects and all other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility


Work Environment

This job operates in a cooler and manufacturing setting. This role routinely uses manufacturing equipment such as scanners, forklifts, lift trucks, injectors, etc. This role also uses computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

This is largely an active role. 90% of the workday is on the shipping floor/dock. This would require the ability to continuously walk, stoop, bend, push, pull, lift, and rotate. Continuous vision, hearing and talking with be necessary.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time salaried position. Monday through Saturday, varied hours. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


This position will require travel.

Required Education and Experience

1. High school diploma

2. Up to 5 years of hands-on supervisory experience in agriculture industry, preferably in a cooler setting.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Self-starter and problem solver with experience in agriculture produce pre-cooling, cold storage, and logistics a real plus. You must be able to walk in and go to work.
