I. OBJECTIVES
To maintain TV-Radio studio equipment, general operations, and assist Chief Engineering in other functions as required.
II. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set-up, maintenance, and installation of studio and television production and transmission equipment, microwaves, satellite dishes, encoders, decoders, servers, etc.
- Performing regular maintenance and repair of broadcast and related equipment using knowledge and understanding of work tools, test equipment, and system operations.
- Prepare and execute regular maintenance schedules, reports, and documentation for the studio, field operations, transmission sites, engineering, and general operations.
- Assisting in the maintenance and installation of computer workstations and computer-based television production and automation broadcast equipment.
- Maintaining equipment stocks and inventories, reports, keeping common areas clean and organized.
- Filling in for operation staff when necessary, possibly with short notice.
- Other duties as directed by the Chief Engineer.
- Some overnight or weekend hours may be required.

Reports directly to Chief Engineer

This is a full-time position. Actual hours and schedule may vary.
V. JOB REQUIREMENTS/ QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate must have at minimum a basic college education, experience supervising and training others, as well as experience in a broadcast engineering capacity- specifically in a television production/transmission facility, if possible. Experience/knowledge of non-linear editing systems, broadcast equipment, broadcast transmission equipment, computer-based systems, familiarity with public access rules and FCC regulations, Statmon Systems, and being bilingual (English/Spanish) will build your strength as a candidate.
Strong interpersonal, communication and time-management expertise are critical to this role, as well as solid reporting and writing skills, combined with excellent organizational skills. The successful candidate must be able to lift at least 50 pounds in order to handle equipment, be able to climb ladders safely and have and maintain a current, valid California driver’s license.
