Marina Job Center is Open! Monterey County Workforce Development Board partners with Monterey Peninsula College in Marina to serve job seekers

In partnership with the Monterey Peninsula College, the Monterey County Workforce Development Board/(MCWDB) has opened a new Job Center located at MPC's Education Center in Marina at 289 Twelfth Street, Room 402.

Now job seekers and students can access a variety of employment and training resources, including current job listings, computer and internet access, labor market information and career exploration assessment, online training, career coaching, job search assistance, and resume development. The MCWDB invites job seekers to drop in or call (831) 597-2858 for an appointment.

“Youth and adults from Marina and beyond will be able to more easily access our services in this new location, thanks to the generosity of Monterey Peninsula College. This type of collaboration demonstrates how strong regional partnerships can benefit the communities of Monterey County,” said Chris Donnelly, Executive Director of the Monterey County Workforce Development Board. “We hope that students, veterans, and all members of the community come take advantage of the services at the Marina Job Center.”

Marina Job Center hours are Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM.  Job seekers are asked to call the center to schedule in-person appointments.  The new job center is part of the One Stop Career Center (also known as America’s Job Centers of California) network in partnership with the Monterey County Workforce Development Board.

Monterey County Workforce Development Board

The Monterey County Workforce Development Board is a 23-member employer-led oversight body of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act / (WIOA) Title I programs in Monterey County. WIOA is a federal program that strengthens workforce programs that serve adults, dislocated workers, youth, and young adults. MCWDB sets local program policies in alignment with WIOA and ensures comprehensive WIOA services for job seekers, youth, and employers. One Stop Career Center also known as America’s Job Center of California

The One Stop Career Center aka AJCC works on the behalf of Monterey County Workforce Development Board to offer comprehensive career services to adult and dislocated workers and coordinates with several community partners. The One Stop Career Center’s mission is to serve as the focal point for local and regional workforce development activities and to integrate workforce preparation services to address the job, education, training, and employment needs in Monterey County.  The One Stop Career Center is one service provider for the MCWDB. Monterey Peninsula College Education Center at Marina

Monterey Peninsula College’s Education Center at Marina gives residents of northwestern Monterey County an opportunity to pursue a college education close to home or work. The MPC Education Center at Marina offers a variety of day and evening courses including English as a Second Language, basic skills, general education and business. To support students enrolled in classes at this campus, a variety of services are provided on site on a rotational basis including counseling, financial aid, veterans' services, English and Study Skills, Math Learning Center, and library services.
