Salinas, California – March 29, 2022 - Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley is an essential service and we have continued to deliver meals to homebound seniors, undisrupted, throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. The number of seniors who need our service continues to climb. We ask for community support for our Annual “Wine Lovers” Drawing 2022 which will kick-off on March 31, 2022. Tickets are $25 each or 5/$100 and may be purchased in a number of ways. Visit www.mowsalinas.org and scroll to “Upcoming Event” to purchase on our website; email info@mowsalinas.org to request an order form to make a purchase; contact any board member to purchase tickets from them or call the office 831.758.6325 to purchase ticket(s). Ticket sales run through May 26th, 2022.

“It is crucial that we continue our fundraising efforts to assure that our homebound seniors are cared for and continue receiving their weekly meal deliveries. We ask for your support of our annual fundraiser - “Wine Lovers” Drawing as we rely on the generosity of our community to continue to support our mission,” says Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley, Inc. (MOWSV) Executive Director, Regina Gage.

This annual drawing is a major fundraiser for MOWSV. The drawing to announce the lucky ticket winner will be held at the MOWSV headquarters, 40 Clark Street, Suite C, Salinas at 3:00pm on Thurs., May 26th and will be broadcast LIVE on FaceBook. Need not be present to win.

With each ticket purchase, you have a chance to win a half wine barrel filled with wines donated exclusively from 4 local wineries: 3 Magnums from Bernardus, 6 bottles of Sparkling Wine from Folktale, 6 bottles from Morgan, and 6 bottles from Puma Road/Pessagno; certificates for wine tasting from: Folktale – tasting for 2; McIntyre Vineyard - Flights & Bites for 4; Hahn Winery – Tasting Flights for 4; and A Taste of Monterey - Ocean View Wine Flights for 4 with Artisan Cheese platter; wine glasses; Lula’s specialty chocolates; wine snacks & crackers and many more wine accoutrements. This wine barrel is valued at over $1,400!

In 2022, Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley celebrates 50 years of serving seniors throughout the Salinas Valley. Since our beginnings in 1972, we have been delivering nutritious meals to seniors who are homebound and cannot shop and cook for themselves and so much more.
