About
The Salinas Police Activities League is a non-profit organization providing safe and nurturing environment for recreational, social, cultural and educational activities for young people within Salinas. Boys and girls, between the ages of 5 - 18, are eligible to participate in Salinas PAL activities. We were founded on October 19, 1991. The driving force behind the formation of Salinas PAL was to provide our young residents with alternatives to gangs and violence. It began with a single softball game between police officers and a local youth gang. Since then, Salinas PAL has grown to provide activities for the youth of our community. Salinas Police Activities League prides itself on providing FREE programs, events and activities for the youth within the City of Salinas. Our primary focus is on social, cultural, recreational and educational programs, events, and activities that will grow with your child. Programs offered such as Jr. Giants baseball, karate, bowling, wilderness camp, ballet. With the opening of our Salinas PAL Youth Center at 100 Howard Street in Salinas will now be able to expand our programs like basketball, volleyball, a computer lab and homework center. PAL strives to mentor and teach strong character skills such as teamwork, honesty and integrity. Our educational activities expose our youth to positive experiences that many have not encountered before. Many programs are coached or chaperoned by committed police officers and community members.
