Since its creation by the Board of Supervisors in 1987, the Monterey County Film Commission has helped shine a spotlight on the Central Coast while creating an economic impact totaling nearly $136 million. Throughout that journey, community support has been instrumental in the nonprofit’s mission to inspire and facilitate film and media production while expanding local employment and education initiatives. 

The MCFC presents another “Hollywood in Your Backyard” industry mixer, a nod to the wealth of local film locations for features, commercials, TV, and other media productions. Hosted May 15 (4:30-6:30 p.m.) at Pizza Factory in Salinas, the mixer allows guests to enjoy a selection of pizza and beverages while networking with local industry professionals, film buffs, and supporters. 

The goal is to showcase how the MCFC works to bring “Lights, Camera, and Economic Action” to Monterey County. Cost is $15 ($12 for Production Resource Guide members), which includes pizza and one beverage. Tickets are limited and can be purchased at www.FilmMonterey.org.
