About

The Arts Council for Monterey County's (Arts4MC) mission is to improve the quality of life for everyone in our region through the Arts. Arts4MC provides quality arts education to more than 25,000 youth by placing professional artists in music, dance, drama and the visual arts - in more than forty school residencies. Arts4MC offers arts as healing programs for at-risk youth, seniors and veterans, creates public awareness campaigns and manages special arts initiatives such as the Community Mural at Pajaro Park, the JUMPSTART program at the Probation Department Youth Center and the Cultural Art Center in Greenfield.  Their comprehensive approach includes grants, training and consultations to more than 80 local arts nonprofits and cultural groups.  Arts4MC also hosts the regional Poetry Out Loud competition, provides scholarships to high school students, supports local emerging and professional artists and manages the ArtWorks @Pacific Grove artist collaborative.
