Alliance on Aging Hosts South County Solutions Summits: A Vital Opportunity for Community Engagement

SALINAS, CA — The Alliance on Aging (AOA) is excited to announce a series of South County Solutions Summits, offering residents an invaluable opportunity to engage in discussions and develop actionable solutions for the most pressing challenges faced by older adults and individuals with disabilities in Monterey County. These summits are part of AOA’s commitment to building age- and disability-friendly communities, and all community members are encouraged to attend.

Each summit will bring together the public, service providers, and local leaders to collaborate on critical issues such as transportation, healthcare access, social isolation, caregiving support, and affordable housing. Community input will shape a sustainable action plan, designed to enhance livability in South County for years to come.

These summits are inclusive forums where community members from all walks of life can share their experiences and ideas.

Special Announcement:

The Alliance on Aging will announce Monterey County’s official recognition as a member of AARP’s Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities. This prestigious designation marks a major milestone in the county’s efforts to enhance livability for residents of all ages and abilities. Rafi Nazarians, AARP California’s Advocacy Director, will present the official membership certificate, highlighting Monterey County's leadership in promoting age-friendly policies.  Formal Presentation Date to be Announced Soon.

Annually, the agency serves over 7,000 individuals, helping them live with dignity, independence, and a higher quality of life.
