Alliance on Aging Salinas Benefit Shop Spirals by the Arch to Honor Small Business Saturday on Nov. 25 with Specials

SALINAS, CA. (Nov. 2, 2023) — Alliance on Aging’s benefit shop in Salinas, Spirals by the Arch, will celebrate Small Business Saturday on Nov. 25, with some specials for shoppers.

 

Sammich’d gourmet sandwich food truck will be doing a pop-up with small bites from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. with food for purchase, and there will be special savings and raffle drawings on the hour from 12 p.m.; — at 1 p.m.; 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.

 

In addition, the nonprofit Peace of Mind Dog Rescue (POMDR) will have adoptable dogs on-site from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Nov. 25. POMDR’s mission is to be a resource and advocate for senior dogs and senior people on California’s Central Coast. They focus on helping senior dogs and people from Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito counties.

 

Spirals by the Arch is located at 247-A Main St. in Salinas. For information, call (831) 646-5052. All proceeds from the shop will benefit Alliance on Aging’s many programs.

 

Small Business Saturday, founded by American Express in 2010 and officially cosponsored by Small Business Administration since 2011,  is a day to celebrate and support small businesses and all they do for their communities. This year, small businesses need the community’s support now more than ever as they navigate, retool and pivot from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

 

Small Business Saturday has become an important part of small businesses’ busiest shopping season. Historically, reported projected spending among U.S. consumers who shopped at independent retailers and restaurants on Small Business Saturday reached an estimated $17.9 billion according to the 2022 Small Business Saturday Consumer Insights Survey commissioned by American Express.

 

About Alliance on AgingAlliance on Aging provides services and resources that address the challenges and opportunities for older adults in Monterey County. Alliance on Aging was established in 1970 by a group of concerned local citizens who wanted to help seniors remain safely in their own homes for as long as possible. This volunteer-driven organization which began as a single program with a handful of volunteers is now a multi-purpose senior service agency with over 200 volunteers.
