Hospice Giving Foundation Announces New President/CEO
Monterey, Calif. (March 18, 2024) — An exciting new chapter for Hospice Giving Foundation begins this spring in anticipation of Siobhan Greene’s planned retirement in June 2024. HG Foundation is proud to welcome Ms. Erin White as the incoming President/CEO who shall begin her tenure on April 1, 2024, succeeding the long-term President /CEO, Siobhan Greene.
A committed and dynamic leader, Erin has dedicated decades to advancing educational and philanthropic efforts in Monterey County. She notably served as the Director of Philanthropy and Community Partnerships at York School and as the Director of Development at Santa Catalina School. Throughout her career, Erin has been instrumental in driving transformational change and ensuring organizational sustainability through philanthropy. Some of her notable professional accomplishments include projects that promote women in science and mathematics, scholarships addressing racial and social inequities in education, and a tuition-free study abroad program for high school students.
Erin is also grateful for her tenure on the Board of Directors for CASA of Monterey County, where she served as a voice and supporter for youth in foster care, alongside Siobhan Greene who currently serves on the CASA Board. Erin eagerly anticipates applying her experience, strategic vision, and strong work ethic to the field of end-of-life care.
“When you’re retiring, all you want is for the right person to take the helm, someone you can trust and know will be dedicated, someone who values relationships and is highly capable. Our entire board and staff are delighted to welcome Erin. Her warmth, ethics, and long list of accomplishments make her the ideal person to usher Hospice Giving Foundation into its next phase,” said Siobhan Greene, current President/CEO.
Erin White earned her B.A. in Philosophy and History from Loyola University Maryland, maintaining a commitment to exploring issues of meaning and purpose in our lives, as well as facilitating difficult conversations that lead to greater truth, compassion, and personal growth.
In her leisure time, Erin enjoys engaging in activities with her two active sons, cooking, traveling, reading, and taking long walks throughout the diverse landscapes of Monterey County.
Sharing her vision, Erin remarked, “I’ve long been fascinated by the etymology of the word ‘compassion’ derived from its Latin root, meaning ‘to suffer with.’ Hospice Giving Foundation has a vision to change the conversation about death and dying in our community and culture, embodying a direct call ‘to suffer with’--to see those experiencing loss, bereavement, grief, and pain, universal experiences shared by all human beings. These are experiences many of us navigate in life’s darkest shadows and corners, sometimes alone. I am honored to be part of an organization that offers a beacon of light in those moments: one that extends its hand in guidance, care, support, and love, and one that is here for you.”
HG Foundation provides leadership and direction for the long-term community health movement to help ensure exceptional end-of-life (EOL) care is available to all people, across Monterey and San Benito Counties.
