Mee Memorial clinic given HEDIS Award of Excellence; singled out for adolescent immunization rate in 2022

KING CITY, Calif., — Central California Alliance for Health has honored Mee Memorial Healthcare System’s King City Clinic with a prestigious HEDIS Award of Excellence.

This award was made in recognition of the extraordinary commitment of the clinic team in providing excellent health care delivery in alignment with quality performance standards established by the National Committee for Quality Assurance and the Department of Health Care Services. HEDIS (Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set) is a tool used by more than 90 percent of U.S. health plans to measure performance on important dimensions of care and service.

In particular, the award committee singled out Mee Memorial’s adolescent immunization rate, which is almost 10 percentage points above the 90th percentile.

Heidi Pattison, Director of Outpatient Clinics for Mee Memorial Healthcare System, called the award a reflection of a coordinated effort.

“Mee Memorial has made quality a priority across our organization, and during the pandemic we implemented a multi-department team approach to HEDIS measures,” she said. “In our clinics, pre-visit planning starts with our patient care coordinators who identify care gaps and schedule appointments, then our back office medical assistants review records and flag quality opportunities for patients on the provider schedules.”

While caring for adolescents can be a challenge, especially with older teens, MMHS has stressed educating patients and their parents on why wellness care and routine immunizations are so important.

The King City Clinic is at 210 Canal St., King City. Phone: 831-385-7100. For more information on Mee Memorial Healthcare System, visit www.meememorial.com.
