MIT and Harvard to Teach Course at One Main

How to grow (almost) anything is the focus

Salinas, Calif. - The Hartnell College Foundation at One Main just became one of North America's newest "nodes", and one of two in California to host the How to grow (almost) anything (HTGAA) class hosted by MIT Media Lab. The global network of "nodes" has groups all over the world, on all continents.

"At the Hartnell College Foundation, our mission is rooted in championing student success and driving regional transformation through strategic partnerships and investments in education and workforce development,” said Dr. Jackie Cruz, VP of Institutional Advancement at Hartnell College and Executive Director for the Hartnell College Foundation.

The Foundation and Hartnell College will work with MIT Media Lab and Harvard to align this course with local industry needs through the BioMADE Education and Workforce Development Award. BioMADE is the nation's bio-manufacturing and bio-industrial workforce development organization.

“This award is aligned with this mission and gets us closer to transforming One Main into a vibrant center for programs like the HTGAA, which aligns perfectly with our broader economic and education regional goals," added Dr. Cruz.

How To Grow (Almost) Anything is a global network for enabling and scaling education and workforce development in Bio-industrial Manufacturing

The classes will be conducted by MIT and Harvard professors virtually. The labs will be at One Main (Previously the National Steinbeck Center) located at 1 Main Street, Salinas, CA., and Hartnell College.

This course starts February 3 through May 8, 2026. For more information on how to be a part of this historic moment, schedule of classes and labs, plus deadlines, visit the course website https://test-site-k12.my.canva.site/htgaa26hartnellcf
