Event highlights included exclusive appearance by Red Bull drift athlete Mad Mike from New Zealand, burnout action at Donut Island, four live bands and a closing set by platinum-selling DJ Dillon Francis in the packed Arena. Carlos Peralta’s Peralta S created by Fabrizio Giugiaro won Best in Show award during its US debut at Monterey Motorsports Festival.

MONTEREY, CA, August 19, 2025. MMF officially arrived as Car Week’s closing evening event. Packed with surprises for visitors, the overwhelming event accommodated more than 6,000 attendees and in excess of 300 cars on display. This included the US debut of the Peralta S hypercar and Davinci Motor unveiling its new electric motorcycle exclusively at Monterey Motorsports Festival.

Among the visitor highlights were the incredibly successful Donut Island experience featuring exotic cars including the twin-turbo Ferrari from Daily Driven Exotics and Federico Sceriffo’s Formula DRIFT PRO Championship Ferrari 599 GTB among others. The autograph session was very popular thanks to the inclusion of New Zealand drift driver and Red Bull athlete Mad Mike, James Kirkham from Race Service, former Lamborghini test driver Valentino Balboni, and NASCAR driver Jesse Iwuji.

Fulfilling the Festival aspect of the event were four live music acts who played throughout the evening as well as Car Week’s first ever headliner, platinum-selling DJ Dillon Francis who played to a crowd of thousands packed into the Fairground’s Arena.

As the most accessible and high-energy event during Monterey Car Week 2025, Monterey Motorsports Festival (MMF) brought together a wonderfully diverse assortment of cars, with everything from European classics to the latest hypercars, lowriders, muscle cars and everything in between. This variety attracted an audience of thousands from supercar owners and collectors to enthusiasts and families. And with more than 300 cars on display, the judging panel from MMF had their work cut out to visit all the entrants and make their assessments. Here are the night’s winning vehicles:

Fabrizio Giugiaro, President of GFG Style and creator of the Peralta S, collected the Best in Show award from Paolo Manca, Founder and CEO of MMF. Everybody at MMF was honored to be chosen for the US debut of this stunning vehicle, which was inspired by the 1972 Maserati Boomerang concept originally designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro. Peralta S was based on the Maserati MC20 chassis and shares the same mid-engine, RWD layout as well as its 621hp twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6. Its dramatic wedged-shaped body was hand-formed in polished aluminum and features a dramatic canopy that hinges forward to allow access. As such, Peralta S was a worthy winner of Best in Show.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, the judging panel awarded trophies to three different Chevrolet Impalas in the Legacy, Lowrider and ASI categories. The ASI Award itself was presented by Maria Laura Luraghi, granddaughter of a former president of Alfa Romeo and official concours judge of Automotoclub Storico Italiano (ASI). Alex Alvarez’s Corvette Convertible with ZR8X styling won the Exotic award, while Eliv Solis received the Custom award for an incredible E30 BMW 323i with a 3.2L S54 turbo engine conversion. And finally Federico Sceriffo received the Motorsports award for his Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorella.

The ten-person judging panel included Paolo Garella, Riccardo Garella, Mike Hall, Richard Hall, Bryce Linker, Marialaura Luraghi, Liliana Oliosi, Cesare Sasso, Shiv Sikand and Daniele Turrisi. The members were divided into teams of two for each category. They were charged with scoring the overall design, quality of the bodywork, interior, mechanical aspects as well as considering the history of the vehicle.

Paolo Manca, Founder of Monterey Motorsports Festival commented, “It took us three years to get here, but Monterey Motorsports Festival has definitively made its mark on Car Week. Everything this small team of dedicated people put together, with the help of a large list of contributors and volunteers, was enjoyed by more than 6,000 people who descended upon the Fairgrounds for an unforgettable closing evening to Car Week. We were incredibly excited for the welcome we received from Car Week attendees, the local community and the automotive industry, and sincerely looking forward to repeating the event next year.

“We were also honored to be chosen for the US reveal of the Peralta S, which was truly deserving of our Best in Show award. It was one of the many highlights at MMF that combined dynamic, fun elements with solid feature cars such as the Peralta S, making the event a truly unique addition to Car Week.”
