Carmel/Monterey, CA  Monterey Symphony announces its 2024-2025 season with two Love Letter to Hollywood, Vol. 2 performances at the Forest Theater and five weekends at Sunset Center. 

 

These concerts are filled with audience favorites that show the full power and brilliance of the Monterey Symphony. From Dvořák’sNew World to Brahms’ Symphony No. 1 to Respighi’s The Pines of Rome, each concert is anchored by an iconic masterpiece that is sure to leave you feeling mesmerized and inspired,” says Music Director Jayce Ogren. 

 

We’ve invited a roster of renowned soloists to join our season. We’ll celebrate 100 years of Rhapsody in Blue with pianist Adam Golka, collaborate with the dynamic Joyce Yang on Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2, and feature Simone Porter in her triumphant return to the Monterey Symphony with Beethoven’s heroic Violin Concerto,” says Ogren.

Love Letter to Hollywood is back with Vol. 2! This year’s concerts will not disappoint with popular movie music from feature films including Pirates of the Caribbean, Jurassic Park, James Bond, Indiana Jones, The Lord of the Rings, Nightmare Before Christmas and more! We are delighted to welcome back local vocalist Malinda DeRouen to the stage for these concerts.
