One Main Street Hosts 30 Miniature Alebrijes & Nahuales
Grand Opening of Exhibit Friday, August 7
Salinas, Calif. – The art and cultural exhibit, Alebrijes & Nahuales Fantastic Animals from Mexico continue to drive joy and pride in Salinas with the grand opening of another special exhibit at One Main Street, home of the Steinbeck Center.
An exhibit of 30 miniature Alebrijes & Nahuales will open to the public with a celebration this Friday, August 7, 2026, at 4:45 PM with a special performance by La Guelaguetza with a traditional Oaxacan dance performance outside One Main Street, followed by:

Alebrijes & Nahuales is a celebrated exhibition featuring eight (8) monumental sculptures now throughout Salinas. The exhibit of the 30 small sculptures was created by Oaxacan artisans, some of whom will be present at the event.
This is a collaboration with the Salinas Valley Chamber of Commerce, the City of Salinas, Hospice Giving Foundation, MagOne Media, the Arts Council for Monterey County, Hampton Inn, Green Rubber Kennedy and Ag, San Andreas Entertainment, and Monterey Museum of Art. Venue partners are Northridge Mall, Salinas Regional Soccer Complex, National Steinbeck Center, Hartnell College Foundation, One Main Street, Vineyard Church, and Star Market.
The exhibit is to serve as a powerful driver of cultural tourism while celebrating and elevating the heritage of Salinas’ largest demographic with roots in Mexico.
