Salinas Valley Students to be Recognized for their Academic Accomplishments at Scholarship Celebration

Salinas Valley, Calif., - (June 6, 2024) - Twenty-five thousand dollars has been awarded to 10 local students who have been selected as the 2024 Raymond H. Costa Family Scholarship recipients.

Recipients are high school graduates, undergraduates, or graduate students at California academic institutions who work, or their parents work, at local McDonald’s restaurants. 

"Many of our scholarship recipients are the first in their families to have the opportunity and means to attend college,” said McDonald's Owner/Operator Raymond H. Costa. “We are honored to help support these incredibly dedicated and talented students attend college. Our goal since the start of this program is to help make positive contributions to the lives of our employees and their families through supporting their educational pursuits."

The Raymond H. Costa Family Scholarship is solely funded by the Costa Family who owns and operates local McDonald’s restaurants. The program is administered through the Community Foundation for Monterey County. Since the scholarship fund was created in 2017, they have awarded over $419,000 to 151 scholarship recipients.
